Jewelissa is a multi-hyphenate performer based in South Jersey & Philadelphia, renowned for their theatrical burlesque, fusion belly dance, silk fan veil prowess, and more. You may have seen her at BeardFest, Lunar Faire, or Philly’s OurFest! She was a featured performer at the 2024 RVA Burlesque Festival. In addition to her work as a performer, Jewelissa is an instructor and the Director of Community Engagement at the Philadelphia Burlesque Academy, teaching all levels burlesque technique, bellylesque, fan veil technique, & choreography. We sat down with Jewelissa and discussed her performance journey, her experience in clowning, and where she gets her inspiration for her acts.
